I have an early morning meeting and in my absence I thought you would enjoy taking a peak at my sister’s marathon experience.

(Warning: Have some tissues near by! This video may bring on some tears) :)

Congratulations to all!!! What an awesome accomplishment! Although… “Crying is for half-marathoners”???????? Ouch! Us half-marathoners are pretty tough, too!

  13. January 12, 2010 9:41 am

That is awesome!!! You can definitely see how the miles can break you down after awhile and it becomes a mental challenge. How amazing to capture her first marathon all on video, I don’t think I could have done that…. I probably would have been swearing by the end. ;-)

That was a wonderful recap of the race. I’m running my first 1/2 marathon on the Cape in February and it made me excited and also washed away my jitters! If you Florida girls can run a full in freezing weather I think I -a New England girl- will survive. Come run the Boston marathon! I live on the route and Marathon Monday is my favorite holiday.

  45. January 12, 2010 1:37 pm

Thank you for sharing that with us!! I love the “crying is for half marathoners” line. haha.

  46. January 12, 2010 1:45 pm

Yay! I miss reading your sister’s blog so much, so it’s great to get to see her experience here on your blog! Congrats to you both, amazing job!

  47. January 12, 2010 1:48 pm

    loved this. beautiful job!!

  48. January 12, 2010 1:56 pm

I had to rush and get a tissue after reading this–what an achievement! You two rock, and there’s nothing like racing with your sister, it’s the best kind of support out there.

My youngest sister and I recently ran a race together (my third, her first) and held hands as we crossed the finish line; I still get weepy thinking about it…

  49. January 12, 2010 2:02 pm

I didn’t think I would tear up but wow that was emotional! Go Kelly, you rocked it!!! What a HUGE accomplishment!

  53. January 12, 2010 2:15 pm

Oh my gosh, I teared up! I NEVER get that at films!! Your sister really is amazing, and an inspiration, and everything else! GO HER!!

  54. January 12, 2010 2:21 pm

Omg what an amazing video! I loved it, that is going to be SO COOL to look back on in 5, 10, 20 years! Way to go Kelly!!!

  55. January 12, 2010 2:44 pm

WOW is all I can say! So amazing, Kelly you ROCK.

I’ll be running a few 5k’s and possibly a 10k before running my first 1/2 marathon in Jamaica (well run/walk). I am so scared because I have never run before and I’ll be starting to really train soon. Your video surely inspired me. Thank you!
