It’s only fitting after having a DVR afternoon to make it a Netflix night. ;)

I’m finally getting around to catching up on season 3 of Dexter. Gotta love the serial killer do gooder.

Oddly enough, Dexter the TV show wasn’t the only run in I’ve had with the name today. Earlier this evening I met my parents for dinner at Dexter’s the restaurant in downtown.

IMG_2966.JPG

The other week I discovered Dexter’s in Thorton Park and have been looking for an excuse to eat there ever since. My parents and other various family members were in town for a broadway show, so I saw it as the perfect opportunity to direct them to the area.

Truger was listed as the wheat beer of choice on the menu. I ordered a glass to confirm the decision myself.

IMG_2956.JPG

Mmmm… pretty good. Of course I really am a fan of any wheat beer.

I was really impressed with Dexter’s salad menu and found myself wavering between a few of the choices listed. In the end I went with the Rustic Cast Iron Skillet Salad

IMG_2959.JPG

a warm & tasty set of toppings including oven dried tomatoes, grilled asparagus, artichokes hearts, rosemary roasted potatoes, feta cheese chunks over mixed crisp greens with a lemon dill dijon dressing on the side and blacked salmon

IMG_2960.JPG

The blacked salmon was well seasoned and a welcomed addition to the salad. The rich vegetables, salmon and potatoes made for a very filling delicious entree.

After we said our good byes I had a massive craving for chocolate and ice cream. I desperately wanted to stop at one of the magical ice cream shops on my way home, but instead I tried to be a good girl and waited until I got home to pry into some of the frozen treats in my freezer.

IMG_2971.JPG

I heated up a Vitalicious Brownie with some Coconut Ice Cream. Yum!

Now it’s time to get back to Dexter and try to get some sleep before my 12 miler tomorrow. In bed before 9:30 on a Saturday evening? It’s just how I roll. ;)

Since racing season started four weeks ago I feel like my weekends have become routine. Friday I would go into race preparation mode and then Saturday I would wake up super early, race my hearts out and crash the rest of the day. :)

I was a little sad that I had no race this morning and had to abandon my little routine. :( Oh what, should I do with my free Saturday?

For starters I slept in until 6:30! (Hey sleeping in is sleeping in, no matter what time that sleeping in may be. ;) ) Then knocked out 5 miles on my training plan. Unfortunately, my tummy felt a little off after last night’s celebrating and let’s just say my run wasn’t uneventful. ;(

I returned from my run with an empty stomach that was trying to eat itself. I’m usually not too terribly hungry after my runs, but this morning I could barely stand to wait the 2 minutes it took to toast my bread.

IMG_2915.JPG

I wanted something fast and filling to satisfy my emptiness and I knew nut butter would do the trick. I toasted two piece of Nature’s Pride Bread.

I topped one with Naturally Nutty’s Toffee Butter Peanut Butter, Raspberries and a sprinkle of Flax Seed.

IMG_2916.JPG

I topped the other with a generous slather of Blackberry Jam and more Flax Seed.

IMG_2917.JPG

On the side a white flesh Peach, which wasn’t nearly as sweet and tasty as a regular peach.

IMG_2918.JPG

This breakfast was perfect. It filled me up with out overdoing it, which is good because I had plans to meet Ryan for Power Yoga less then an hour later.

If you are in the Orlando area College Park Yoga offers Saturday morning Power Yoga classes for a discount rate of $5. I took advantage of the deal this morning and participated in my first Power Yoga class in an actual yoga studio.

The class was great. It was serene and relaxing, yet I still worked up a sweat. However, Ryan warned me the instructor was merely a substitute and the regular person is much more intense. I plan to go back in a couple of weeks to get the full intense experience.

After the class Ryan and I walked down to a local craft fair in front of Tea Infusion.

IMG_2922.JPG

The parking lot was filled with beautiful hand made crafts.

IMG_2923.JPG

After seeing Ryan purchase a gorgeous headband the other day, I was happy to find the person who makes them at the fair.

IMG_2926.JPG

I bought a brown and yellow one that I can’t wait to wear.

IMG_2938.JPG

We couldn’t resist heading into Infusion Tea for a little treat and some cool AC.

IMG_2929.JPG

I ordered an Iced Ginger Peach Tea.

IMG_2935.JPG

Sooooo…. GOOD! I love peach flavored teas and the ginger was very subtle so that it wasn’t too spicy.

I was more then ready for a snack at this point and pulled out the new Chocolate Peanut Butter Amazing Grass Bar I had picked up from Whole Foods last night.

IMG_2930.JPG

Any bar with peanut butter instantly grabs my attention and when I saw these start to pop up, I knew I had to try one.

IMG_2932.JPG

I was originally expecting a peanut butter coating of the original Amazing Grass bar just like the regular chocolate ones, but this was different. The inside part of the bar holds the peanut butter and then the outside is wrapped in chocolate.

IMG_2934.JPG

Wow! This was good. It was like a peanut butter larabar wrapped in chocolate, only better because it had little nuts and seeds to chew on.

This bar also packs 12 grams of protein which explains why I was so stuffed after I ate it. I was almost on the verge of being uncomfortably full. If you are looking for a really filling bar to hold you over for a few hours then I would highly suggest this one, otherwise I think next time I will just be eating half and feel content. :)

Ryan has been researching the Orlando Farmer’s Market scene. I told her Winter Park was the really the best in the city. We headed there after finishing our drinks.

IMG_2939.JPG

I was happy to find $1 grab bags of Okra and Snap Peas.

IMG_2947.JPG

Ryan found some Cat Grass for her little Harvey to enjoy. :)

IMG_2948.JPG

We asked a few of the booths if they were locally grown and the closest we got was Georgia.

IMG_2944.JPG

I guess Florida doesn’t have the ideal climate for produce at the moment because of the high temps. At least, we were assured they were pesticide free. :)

IMG_2945.JPG

IMG_2946.JPG

I have plans for an early dinner with my family so I kept lunch light with a left over Spaghetti Squash Pancake, Goat Cheese and Salsa over a bed of Spinach.

IMG_2949.JPG

It’s HOT again outside – Where did you go Fall temps? I plan to beat the heat inside cleaning and catching up on my DVR.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

P.S. Last night’s dress was from Target. I actually wrote about purchasing it on this post. :)

Tonight was all about celebrating one of my favorite bloggers at one of my favorite restaurants. :)

IMG_2896.JPG

I met up with Caitlin, her husband, sister in law, brother in law and friend Harry at Seasons 52 for a celebratory dinner on Caitlin’s resignation of her job and her Operation Beautiful book deal.

I knew the special dinner was going to be a little later then I normally eat so around 4:00 I proceeded to eat 1/2 of this full bag of Popcorn.

IMG_2862.JPG

Our reservations for dinner were at 9:00 but everyone met a little early and enjoyed some drinks in the great autumn weather.

IMG_2867.JPG

IMG_2868.JPG

I sipped on a glass of my favorite Santa Christina.

IMG_2866.JPG

IMG_2869.JPG

Once seated our table was buzzing with non-stop chit chat of each other’s lives.

IMG_2870.JPG

Our friend Harry was kind enough to order the Shrimp Chipolte Flatbread appetizer for the table.

IMG_2875.JPG

I had one slice.

IMG_2876.JPG

Yum! This was very spicy with a little sweetness thanks to the pineapple topping.

I had the toughest time deciding what to have for my dinner, so I went with two yummy appetizers.

Spicy Chicken Chile Rellano with goat cheese and spinach on pico de gallo

IMG_2890.JPG

Cranberry Tabouleh with fresh mint, lemon, cucumbers, tomatoes and toasted almonds

IMG_2887.JPG

Of course a trip to Seasons 52 wouldn’t be complete without dessert!

IMG_2901.JPG

I should have got a photo of everyone pouncing for their dessert choices! We were all craving something sweet.

I went for the Peanut Butter Swirl and Pumpkin Pie.

IMG_2905.JPG

LOVED the Pumpkin Pie!!! Yay for pumpkin season in full force again. :)

IMG_2908.JPG

The night ended with Caitlin and her sister in law taking celebratory shots of Buttery Nipples.

(Doesn’t Caitlin look so excited? ;) )
IMG_2909.JPG

IMG_2910.JPG

Tonight was too much fun. Congrats once again to Caitlin and all her successes. I’m proud to call you one of my BFFs!

IMG_2913.JPG

Now I need to hit the hay for my 6:00am wake up call.

Good Night!!
