Thursday Night Out

March 26, 2009
by Meghann

There is nothing better then a random weeknight out with the girls and a great beer to go with it.

After work I put Abbie on a leash and met up with Caitlin and our new friend Neely at Lake Eola for a walk around the park. We didn’t even make it a full lap around the lake when we decided to stop for the beer. Just the kind of walk I enjoy!

It was a great week night escape that had be itching for the weekend that is thankfully less then 24 hours away! :)

We spent two full hours talking and wrestling with the dogs, that I didn’t even notice how hungry I was until I got home and noticed it was already after 8:00. Its times like these I’m glad I have random quick meals in my pantry.

Tonight I choose some Tasty Bites Indian Food.

90 seconds in the microwave and a Pita on the side, dinner was done.

And it was pretty tasty. Got to love the quick Indian meals. :)

I was glad dinner was quick because I knew I had these goodies to sample afterwards.

Danica sent me a few of the items she was considering baking for the bake sale.

Of course I jumped on the chance to sample and be an unbiased judge. ;)

Tonight I tried the Mock Tag Along, Pecan Bark, & Peanut Butter Easter Egg.

The Pecan Bark was really good, but sooo rich!

I could only handle this little bite!

I liked the Peanut Butter Easter Eggs!

They reminded me of a lighter version of my Mom’s Peanut Butter Balls.

My favorite were the Mock Tag Alongs that Danica made specifically with Dark Chocolate just for me!

They tasted JUST LIKE Girl Scout Tag Alongs!!! I VOTE FOR THESE!!! :)

This afternoon I had my co-workers flocking to my desk after I popped a 100 Calorie bag of Kettle Popcorn.

Its always amusing how the smell attracts those far and wide. :)

Tonight’s Baker Spotlight…

With an overwhelming amount of interest from our Northern friends, this time around I have been able to set up a special Canadian portion of my Blogging Bake Sale. That’s right on April 6th Canadian readers will have the chance to bid on some goods as well! Just as the other goodies will be open to U.S. Residents only, these goodies will be open to Canadians only.

I want to thank Karen from To Be the Whole Package for being my first Canadian friend to offer up her baking services. She has been a thrill to organize with and I can tell she is very excited to bake up something special for one of her fellow countrymen. Check out her write up of her upcoming participation in the Blogging Bake Sale at her blog here.

I’m scared to make popcorn at work for fear of burning it, and having everyone try and hunt me down for the awful smell….!

Your treats to taste test sure look good.

Those treats look great! Are Tag Alongs the Peanut Butter Patties? Apparently parts of the midwest have different names for some of the cookies.

So you’ve got me hooked on netflix and I just got done watching “super size me”. I’m not sure there is a word in any language dictionary that can describe that movie.

On a lighter note, I had big salad for dinner and I’m stuffed. The eggplant looks great for pita dipping. Sleep tight! =)

  18. March 26, 2009 9:38 pm

Yeah ~ You got the package!! I am sooo glad it arrived and in good condition for the most part too – woohoo!

Ok – so I am thinking I just might have to include more than one item in my bake sale package. Off to brain storm and put it all together tonight to send over.

Enjoy your goodies although I am sure they made it to the freezer by now for easy grabbing :)

It sounds like you had a great night out!

I have been reading your blog for months now and I just want to commend you on all of your healthy (and creative!) eating choices. When you’re training for a marathon and working a full-time job, it’s tough to find the time to put together balanced meals. Keep up the good work :-)
