Tonight I decided to break out something that has been buried in my closet way too long..

…my Rollerblades!
I bought these babies a couple of years ago in attempt to make exercise more fun. Little did I realize that rollerblading is not as effortless as it was when I was 12. These babies give you quite the work out and I gave up on them after a couple of turns around the block.
Tonight I was determined to enjoy this work out, rather then dread it. I did a 20 minute skate around my apartment complex and could feel it in my legs, abs and shoulder. I relished the pain as it meant I was accomplishing something with these babies.
I think now that I’ve rediscovered the skate and their benefits I will utilize them more often for cross training purposes.
Whens the last time you were on a pair of rollerblades or skates? Were you someone who went to the skating rink as a kid? I remember going on Friday nights and hoping my crush would ask to hold my hand during the slow songs..swoon..
Anyways..
Before I left work I had a Kashi Pumpkin Pie Bar.

Dinner was a fun twist on a Frittata.

In my egg white Frittata I had Dates, Goat Cheese, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Spinach, Asparagus and Green Onions. I heated up all the veggies in a small pan then coated the veggies with a cup of egg whites. I let the bottom heat for a minute or two, then transferred it under the broiler for about five minutes.

I topped the frittata with a dollop of Tomato Chutney. It added a spicy touch to the sweet and savory combo in the frittata.
On the side I had a toasted Flat Out wrap slathered with Tomato Chutney.

It was a great, protein rich meal.
For dessert I had the last of Tami’s Whoopee Pies.

Thanks again, Tami, for the wonderful whoopee pies! I enjoyed each and every one of them!
I’m off to watch some trashy tv. Good Night!
Thanks for all of your suggestions with my food rut. I think its time to have a little fun experimenting and will be putting together of plan of action for next week, so stay tuned!
I did manage to void a bar as my mid morning snack (too bad I packed one for this afternoon
)
I was able to be completely satisfied nibbling on a piece of reduced fat string cheese.
For lunch it was too the fridge for left overs and a beautiful, colorful salad.
I had my left over Curry Chicken with Bashtimi Rice from Sunday night.
And a Spinach Salad I topped with Grapes, Carrots, Green Onion, Tomato, Corn, Goat Cheese and a drizzle of Annie’s Cucumber Yogurt Dressing.
There’s not such thing as a simple salad in my book. Once I break the green out I can’t help piling on all the pretty colors to fill the bowl.
And there was a Carmel Godiva Chocolate for dessert! ( Yes, I still have a couple pieces left. Slow and steady wins the race)
This one was my favorite I think. so chewy and rich!
Tampa Meet Up
Right now Caitlin, Jenna and I are finalizing the call out for any readers or fellow bloggers who want to meet up in Tampa this Sunday for lunch after our Half Marathon. Please send me an e-mail at graduatemeghann@gmail.com if you’re interested.
If you’ve already e-mailed one of the three of us, then you should be getting an e-mail sometime this week with the details. I can’t wait to see everyone!
Congratulations, you have survived Monday! The rest of the week should be a breeze.
I am trying not to over it do it this week before my races this weekend, so this morning I found a work-out on my Netflix Instant Play that seemed relatively easy and low impact. I did the Self: Slim and Sleek, Fast!
All I have to say is easy and low impact was right, this work out was boring! I think I yawned half way through it. Oh well, that’s what I get for not running. However, while digging out the weights to use during the DVD, I found something fun that I plan to experiment with tonight to get my booty moving. Stay tuned for my evening post for more information on that.
After my boring work out, I needed an exciting breakfast. It’s funny how the same thing I have every morning is still exciting to me.
Yep, cereal it was! I had 1/2 cup Kashi Cinnamon Harvest, 1/2 cup Kashi Honey Sunshines, Vanilla Non-Fat Yogurt, Strawberries, Blueberries, and 1/4 cup of Ezekial 4:9 Almond Cereal sprinkled on top.
I promise to switch my breakfast up a little tomorrow.
I’m actually feeling like I’m in a food rut lately. My breakfast is pretty much the same every morning and my snacks are turning into the parade of bars. I’m thinking about challenging myself next week to revamp my food up. Maybe a different breakfast combination each morning and snacks that aren’t bars? I’m stilling thinking about, but I would look out for that in the next week. I need a change.
Do you ever feel in a food rut?
